A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire by Jennifer L. Armentrout

2.0

A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire is the second book Armentrouts "From Blood and (Tr)Ash " series.

Similar to the first book, this series is definitely not boring, however the complete lack of originality makes for a very "I know exactly what is going to happen next" reading experience. Whilst I did not enjoy A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas, AKOFAF genuinely feels like a direct copy of ACOMAF.

Poppy and Hawke are incredibly bland and the supposed "sex scenes " are poorly written.

Armentrout seems to have issues with her pacing where she will write about nothing for 70% of the book and then try to cram 50 different plot devices with the last 30%- this just makes for badly written chaos.

Still cannot believe this series is loved, cause it’s terrible. As I have the trilogy, I will be reading the third book because I can’t leave a series unread.

Pray for me !
