The Jedi Path: A Manual for Students of the Force by Daniel Wallace

4.0

Written in form of introduction-to-Jedi textbook (for school of Jedi :)) this rather small book provides plethora of information that explains rules and obligations of Jedi, way their organization works and challenges that slow promotion from one Jedi level to another is supposed to handle.

Illustrations are pretty good (maybe slightly smallish) and schematics of various devices and ships together with visual presentations of sword fighting techniques truly make this book look and feel as a school textbook. I especially liked chapters on obligations related to taking up Padawan's, various organizations comprised of people that did not pass the trials but decided to stay and server the Order, and finally constant requirement to keep ones emotions at check to avoid falling to the Dark Side (I guess noone on planet Earth would be a Jedi candidate these last few years :))

Although essential guide books and few other books contain much more on the lore itself this book plays the role of starter RPG source-book just fine.

Recommended to fans of Star Wars lore, there is plenty here about Jedi I did not come across anywhere else.
