I have waited years to read this book because up until Han Kang won the Nobel prize, stores and libraries near me didn't have her books. Honestly, this book was worth the wait because it was incredible. I think especially in the current political climate of North America, this was a moving read to see how students in the past rose up against unjust leadership in Korea. It was heartbreaking to learn little bits and pieces of our main character, Dong-ho, through all the people whose lives he briefly or deeply touched. Han Kang really brilliantly crafted this story.
