This was a short and enjoyable read about a small community that grows from a vacant lot transforming into garden space. Every chapter is a different character and their perspective of how they came to be associated with the community. Almost every story was of BIPOC and immigrant backgrounds with cultural roots leading to their connection with the new community garden. There was disability representation, grief processing, relationship transformations - all kinds of topics of humanity were lightly touched on. It was lovely to see a community take care of each other in such a simplistic yet impactful novel.
