i find it hard to digest classics, especially classics that have been translated to english. there i said it. though it pains my literary heart, i am rarely ever in the right mindset to actually critically analyse a classic. for the most part, i just read a story bc it’s a story lol.

with that said, i found this story funny in the same way watching someone trip is funny.
apart from the terrifying amount of love bombing (is four nights enough to intimate someone?),
i found the prose so long and breathless that it felt like he really was just a lonely guy that needed someone to word vomit onto.

warning: a lot of written emotions in this one, a lot more than i was necessarily comfortable with. but at least it was a quick short story!
