Absolute Batman: The Killing Joke by Brian Bolland, Alan Moore

5.0

Short and sweet, and packed plenty of punches!

We've got Joker's origin story and context to why he's mad, and how all of those things play out in his acts of insanity. He's not without reason, or even, logic, but you certainly wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of his crazy. And of course, we've got Batman in the mix, can't be without him. The dynamic between the two is great. It's pretty clear that this is the dynamic where Nolan got his source material/inspiration from when the Dark Knight film was made. And the ending to this graphic novel...THAT ENDING! We'll never know...lol...

Overall, I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who's curious to know where and how the Joker came to be.
