Volume 2 really ups the ante. It ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, but I'm fine with that because I'll definitely be following this story to the end. The plot is so clever and intriguing.

There were some really big revelations here, with how Yoshiki knew Hikaru was replaced, that there's some kind of 'ritual' Hikaru was probably supposed to complete in the mountains the night he died, and something about his father. Like there might be a group who keeps an eye on whatever "Hikaru" is and keeps him from surfacing.
Meanwhile, we saw Hikaru's final moments! What a shocker that was. And the final pages of the bonus scenes where "Hikaru" realised that he's in love with Yoshiki! There was also a really important conversation between Hikaru and Yoshiki where it's implied that Yoshiki might be gay but can't come out because another guy in the village came out as gay and everyone said he was sick and being sent away.

I love how delicately Yoshiki's feelings are handled, but I also love how super soft and squidgy "Hikaru" can be in contrast to the memories of old Hikaru, and yet he's also a badass demon-thing that can handle all the mysterious threats surrounding Yoshiki.
