Invincible Louisa: The Story of the Author of Little Women by Cornelia Meigs

3.0

Louisa May Alcott was an amazing young woman. Her parents both had strong personalities, compassionate hearts, and a great love for learning. Louisa herself takes after them. She had a strong bond with her parents and sisters, an imaginative mind, a strong work ethic, and also a big heart. I was pleased to see so much of Louisa in her book Little Women. Reading this book made me want to re-read Little Women and read something new by her. I also hadn't realized the connections between Louisa and the transcendentalists of the time. A great role model for girls and young women.

Upper elementary/middle school.
