First book of 2025 and what a way to start!

This is my second Lily Gold book and definitely my favourite of the two so far.

This book had me hot under the collar one minute, beating my head against the pages in frustration the next, on the edge of my seat with suspense another and finally and most unexpectedly sobbing in bed at 2:30 in the morning.

This book was an incredibly written emotional roller coaster from beginning to end.

Worth noting is the INCREDIBLY well written trauma and PTSD backgrounds and experiences. Never would I have ever expected a RH romcom to tackle such heavy topics so well, with such care, respect and honesty.

As much as this story was…dripping with smut, the concurrent story of a celebrity being stalker and kidnapped and an ex-SES soldier with severe and debilitating PTSD were not left to the wayside. They were consistent and handled with a care and honesty I wasn’t expecting and had me bawling at ungodly hours of the early morning as I powered through the second half of this book.

Some noteworthy triggers would definitely be PTSD (flashbacks/experience ect), kidnapping, break in, almost rape (fear of being raped very present), panic attacks and psychological and sexual abuse.
