The Half-God of Rainfall by Inua Ellams

Can you imagine a full blown book that has a whole slew of gods from pantheons around the the world. Or a TV show. Lord, what I would do for a TV show that explores all the gods of all the pantheons around the world. A fictional show, with drama and intrigue and backstabbing and Zues being called out and Hera rolling her eyes at her portray in mythology like "yeah of course they'd cast me, a woman, as the villain while my cheating, rapist husband is always somehow forgiven for all his disgusting acts, of course". And then we'd get to learn about other gods and goddess from other places, like the African pantheons, Chinese pantheon, and the different First Nation/Native American Pantheons, and all other pantheons of the the world. Oh yeah, this book has awoken a need inside me.

Oh, and my thoughts on the book: I. Love. IT! So much. So damn much. I didn't even really know anything going in, didn't even read the synopsis. But when I started it I was blown away. I want more, actually, thanks. Not so much from this book, but more books/poetry/TV shows/movies like this, because wow.

CW/TW: Anything Involving the Greek Gods is its Own Content Warning, sexual assault/rape, PTSD, death, murder, Zues being Zues and doing what Zues does (rape, he's a rapist and all he does is shapeshift and rape)
