I’ve never read a book like this before! I’ve read your traditional MF/MM/FF romances but never one that represented nonbinary characters. I think this diverse representation was a breath of fresh air. It also encompasses a best friends-to-lovers romance which is one of my favorites. No wonder I read it in one sitting! I do have to admit though that the use of they/them confused me. I haven’t been as exposed to this in writing so there were times I forgot who was being referred to and it took me some time to get used to it. I also wasn’t expecting so much spice! When I see illustrated/cartoon covers I generally think the books will be more focused on the relationship and less on the spice but this dove into it fast. It took me by surprise. Other than that, I liked the setting, the secret pining that was years in the making, and the relationship that ultimately developed between Elsie and Ginny!
