Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Love and Life from Dear Sugar by Cheryl Strayed
5.0
I struggled a little with how to rate this book because there are people in my life I would absolutely not recommend this book to - lots of talk about sex, perfect and regular use of the "f" word, and vastly different spiritual views than mine. That said, the author earned every bit of my 5 stars.
Cheryl Strayed is brilliant and has deep insight into the human psyche. This book oozes with compassion, mercy, heartache, and humor. I finished it wiser and more hopeful than I was when I started it.
She is one of my writing heroes, challenging me to become a better writer - more authentic and brave with the words I type on a page.
So, give this book ago. As Ms. Strayed encourages, “Let yourself be gutted. Let it open you. Start here.”
