honestly this book had potential
i wasn’t a fan at the start of the whole ‘i’m obsessed with you but you’re not good enough to marry’ because that’s just a bit eh really
but i did like their banter and the chess etc it was very cute
however, once they got married the book turned to the most boring thing? like the honeymoon wasn’t exciting, family dinner wasn’t fun, there was a little bit of excitement at the very end which i will admit i liked but idk why the rest of it was dragged along
i understand she clearly wanted to show they weren’t in love before the big declaration at the end but who wants to read a couple not in love do things as if they were but not really with emotion because they aren’t?
i’ll definitely continue this series but i might have to take a lil break from historical romances for now ive read like a million in the past 2 weeks
