This book was not what I expected. I was thinking that One in Four was going to be a whodunit mystery, and it sort of/kind of was, but not in the traditional sense. I was locked in from the beginning, but the plot fell off for me once it took a turn I didn't see coming.
I didn't love the characters, and I thought the main character, Dr. Laurel, talked too much. Her internal monologues were long-winded.
I loved the narration in this book. The chapters held in the past were heartbreaking, and in true Lucinda Berry fashion, the actual truth of what happened is much worse than what you thought.
