informative medium-paced

I had been waiting to read this. I love world history. The first half of the book was very interesting and had me intrigued. The last quarter was less so. There were about four chapters on oil and the relationship between England, US, Iran, and Iraq. It just felt out of place with the rest of the book.  The epilogue helped wrap some things up and ended it nicely though.
