Central Park

Oh, what to say about this one?
It started out great! Thought I had another great read in my hands. The beginning started out as a 4 star, the middle dropped to a 3 star and the twisty ending brought it down to a 2 star.
Alice, a Parisian cop, wakes up in the woods handcuffed to a stranger. She tries to recall what happened the night before but can't remember past drinking with her friends. She checks herself over while the stranger sleeps. There's blood on her shirt but she doesn't appear to be injured. There's a gun in her jacket, missing one bullet, but the gun isn't hers. What the hell happened?
Spoiler alert:
I really get turned off from books that have characters falling in love in incredibly short time frames. The two main characters spend 24 hours together and Gabriel is professing his love for Alice at the end of the day.
