Alison Cochrun is just really good at what they do! I love these flawed, messy women who find their way through their issues together back to each other and something stronger and better than before. The death road trip was simultaneously hilarious, heartfelt, and inspiring. From a narrative standpoint it also worked really well to push these characters through some hard moments while also providing tension (their coping styles do NOT mesh well). I love Alison's mental health rep, their complicated characters, their ability to dive into real, hard topics alongside a delightful romance. The sex scene(s?) in this book are some of the most effective I've read in a long time! They're tender, honest, and work deliberately to further these characters' arcs.
