There are two distinct divides in YA novels - ones that are truly intended for 13-16 year olds, and the YA novels that are genuinely all ages (Hunger Games, Perks of Being a Wallflower, etc.). This falls in the former - it was very teen, which made it far less enjoyable for me. I honestly felt like the way it was written contributed to my lack of love for this one. Hannah is holding onto this big secret and it’s not revealed until literally the last few chapters and I think this story could’ve been so much more than Emory and her boyfriend. This was a flop for me.
