This book was absolutely lovely. I don't think I've ever felt such a wide range of visceral emotions while reading a book, and its length (or lack thereof) makes that all the more astonishing to me. Honestly, the only complaint I have about this book is that Gay writes way too similarly to me; that is, he writes such long sentences that I don't even remember what happened at the beginning of them lol. If you don't have trouble reading writing like that (or even if you do, because it's beautiful and worth working through), I can't recommend it enough!!
Graphic: Terminal illness, Cancer, Grief, Emotional abuse, Mental illness, and Suicidal thoughts
Moderate: Vomit and Racism
Minor: Alcoholism, Suicide, Murder, Violence, and Alcohol
Pretty much everything I've listed is discussed in relation to the author's life, whether it's something that's happened to him or something he's done.
