Caraval by Stephanie Garber

This book contains details of abuse, s*icide, murder, death and the effects of loss and grief on a person.

Delve into a world of fantasy. A world in which everything is not as it seems. Don't believe everything... Remember it's all a game.

I buddy-read this book with a friend and oh my! We were both blown away by everything!!

The relationship between Scarlett and Donatella was beautiful. They both had such great faith and trust in each other. Even after everything they've been through with their father, they decide to rebel against him just this once. But.. How just how far were they willing to go to be with each other?

Also... While we're on the topic of character's... Can we talk about Julian and Scarlett? The two of them are so darned stubborn over everything. Stubborn and secretive. I did love the banter between them! I couldn't help but smirk and laugh at some of the remarks they threw at each other.

Julian, though, I was always suspicious of him, his secretive nature but also the fact that he seemed to know the game a bit too well.

He was a huge part of the plot, and I mean a HUGE part.

The story itself and all the magic of Caraval and Legend was absolutely mind-blowing. I believe one thing to be true when all of a sudden... WHAM! It turns out to be a lie.

The plot was full of twists and turns, secrets and lies, betrayals and deceits. Garber us one hell of a good author. I NEED to read more! Garber has such a way with her words that makes the story feel oh so real. Her writing flows easily and her story is captivating.

Caraval is a twisted tale of love, secrets and trust. It is a story to be remembered.
