Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell

3.0

I'm not sure what to think about this classic. I've dallied quite a bit in dystopian works, so it's hard not to compare them. However, I found Orwell's style a little too transparent in terms of the message he was trying to send about modern society. His depiction of females was never favorable. The last chapter was a twist for me, though. Overall, a good book, but I'll need to read a couple papers mining the subject to really get a grasp on whether I liked it or not.
