i’m kind of.....stunned. i don’t know what to think. i knew, from first reading Ng’s “little fires everywhere” that i kiiiind of knew i'd love this. but this blossomed into a different kind of love. all the of the characters are very human and complex. i wouldn't exactly label this as a "family drama" but there are a lot of family secrets that you uncover as you go on. Ng really shows off her talent for writing complex and interesting characters. i can see why this is so many people’s favorite book - and it may be mine as well. i wanted the story to settle within me for a while before i rated it but this book is just so raw and powerful. this is one for sure that i will want to read again...and again. as soon as i finished this, i raced to the store to buy my own copy - and if that doesn't tell you how moving this book is, i don't know what will.

all in all, a BEAUTIFUL, sad, and original book that i will think about for a long, long time.
