I don't even know where to start cuz this was something y'all.
This ain't no romance per say since it doesn't have an hea however there is a promise of an hea by the end and you'll understand what I mean when you read it.
I wasn't mad about the end cuz like I said there is a promise that one day they will be together again and because of the tone of the story i think this type of ending fits it. That's not to say I'm 100% satisfied with it either. I need at least a chapter of them being together after everything for me to be all in.
I still think it was a good story and I appreciate that Kat wrote us this type of story. It's unconventional but it worked if you're into a serial killer who turns into a stalker who then kidnaps Storm to make her his then you will like this. Just be aware of what I said previously and the content warnings.

Micah is a convicted serial killer on death row when he meets Storm for the first time in person. He is immediately enthralled with her and he plans his escape to make her his.
Storm is a Thriller author who also occasionally writes Erotica and she hit a writer's block so what she and her BFF decide to do is write letters to criminal in prison and when she goes to visit, she inevitably makes eye contact with Micah and that was basically game over.

I must say there's nothing lovable about Micah's per say however for some reason I kinda liked him and when I found out why he was a serial killer, it helped my opinion of him. With that said he did killed innocent people afterwards so there's that.
What I really liked was his connection with Storm. At first Storm was very afraid of her own shadow cuz a serial killer was stalking her but then Storm and we find out stuff about her that ultimately made these two work.  They just had an understanding of what each other really wanted / desired.

It was a very bumpy road until almost the very end. Storm struggled to reconcile what she wanted and what a "normal" person would do or think but by the end she picked a side and damn was I surprised. I didn't think she had it in her but I was wrong and I for some reason wasn't mad about what she did either. 🙈 She was just as devious as him and I kinda liked it.

The writing was very compelling and I was glued to my kindle because I just wanted to know what would happen next.
I can't wait to read what Kat writes next. Cruel Fate (book 2 in the Masterminds series) here we go!
