Another goodie from Elsie Silver. It's not my favorite of the series, but honestly, they'd all rank pretty close together (whereas I have some clear rankings when it comes to the other 2 series!). Also Jason Clarke could read a page of the phonebook to me, and I'd love it. Not to mention Samantha Brentmoor... both really brought the emotion to this book.

Great as a standalone, but I love the callbacks and character growth through the series.
