Elric of Melniboné by Michael Moorcock

This makes for a fairly nice read… if you can forget that you get exactly ONE female character and her sole purpose is to be an object of desire for the men in this book. All she does is sit still, look pretty, and more often than not, get into situations from which she must be rescued.

Technically, 3 stars is too high a rating. However, considering this was written in the ‘70s (maybe ‘60s idk), I thought I’d be a little bit more gracious. Look... if I were judging strictly in terms how good a fantasy this is, I'd say it's pretty good. The world building is impressive, the characters are interesting, and quite frankly I did find myself enjoying the story, except when Cymoril showed up and I was violently reminded of the fact that women have no value in this story.
