Inevitable by Briar Prescott

5.0

Briar Prescott has done it again.

Once again she has written an absolutely captivating piece of romantic literature that had me hooked to my Kindle for twenty-four hours, unable to set it aside because of the lives unfolding on the page in front of me.

Inevitable is amazing. The chemistry between Bas, Ezra, and Drew crackles off of the page - both the sexual and romantic tension is so thick that you would need a chainsaw to cut it. The characters all feel incredibly real as well. Prescott has an amazing way with characterization and this book shows that talent again.

The romantic relationship and the struggles faced between the three men feel real. The hesitancy, the doubts they have as they face hurdles as a throuple, even the path to becoming one - it all felt incredibly real.

This book also features an asexual lead. This character is never written as though finding the right person to love will fix him, because he is not treated as if he is broken with his asexuality. Finding good asexual representation can be hard, and if you're looking for it? Look no further than this book. Because the asexual character? He's in a romantic relationship. He talks openly and honestly about his asexuality and what it means to be in a relationship with people who are not asexual.

That's another amazing thing that Prescott does with this relationship. They communicate. The problems they have are solved through communication, which after reading so many books where communication doesn't exist is a beautiful thing.

Every part of this book left me smiling. It hit all of my tropes - one night stand that never ends, friends to lovers, healthy relationships, a little bit of angst with a happy ending. I seriously would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a genuinely GOOD gay romance novel.
