The Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Rothfuss

Did not finish book. Stopped at 58%.
I got to page 575, in a year and three months and as a fast reader and someone that did enjoy The Name of the Wind, this book just wasn’t it.
Rothfuss’ writing is good. Every time I picked the book back up I did find myself reading every word like I had never put it down. HOWEVER I’m over 1200 pages into Kvothes life and he’s done absolutely nothing that explains how incredibly and legendary he is and with basically 0% chance of the third book ever being published, there was no motivation to even finish the book.
Pages 530-575 I skimmed through as I was hoping surely something interesting would happen soon and it simply did not!

Rothfuss has created an incredibly fleshed-out universe in an amazing way, the characters just don’t seem to play into that and we’re constantly told how amazing they are with nothing to show for it.

If the third book is ever published, maybe i’ll finish it
