Oh gosh, I was hoping for so much more out of this. I wanted to be truly scared. But I was rather, slightly amused at all the different ways someone could be burned to death. And while I did feel dread about what was going to happen to Mark and the ending was a bit of a twist, the book overall didn't thrill me. The twins could have been a lot creepier and manipulative (and why the Irish mannerisms?). And the hypnotism was really over-done with Lea. And why did Ira and Elena suddenly not be under the spell when the twins were about to kill them? Wouldn't they take whatever was coming to them without emotion since they're hypnotized? And it was nice to have the points of views of three characters, but we really didn't need the whole backstory of the cop. Who cares if he's trying to get back with his ex...ugh. I think I'll stick with my old Goosebumps if I want some RL Stein from now on.
