Connilyn Cossette has become of those must read authors for me. If I see a work with her name on it that I haven't read yet, I immediately add it to the top of my list of To Be Read. This book did not disappoint. I think my favorite thing about this book was for Avidan to figure out his place in this world, and what exactly Adonai created him to do. The internal fight from wanting to be a warrior and fight physical battles to realizing being a storyteller to fight spiritual battles was my favorite theme of the book. I appreciated how Cossette also showed how Israel slowly morphed their worship of YHWH to one that mixed with other religions to the point that Keziah believed that Asherah was the wife of YHWH. Overall, such a well researched and well written book that I devoured in a couple of days.
