A yapper protagonist who takes a drive through the English countryside and reflects on his work as a butler. You’ll hate him at times but a relatable character for how he tries to excuse his behavior. It is ultimately a book on how you reflect on your past and the extent of your life’s work amounting to something. And yet as much as it looks to the past, it encourages us to look forward, making the best of what remains of the day. “Evening is the best part of the day. You’ve done your days work. Now you can put your feet up and enjoy it.”
