It reads like a YA debut from 2008 (because it is).
The dialogue is stiff and unnatural.
Too many sentences start with "for".
The character relationships felt so one dimensional and I really didn't feel a connection with anyone.
Was it friends to lovers? They were suddenly friends and then suddenly lovers with no build up or chemistry.
Every plot point was moved through much too quickly. Like this happened, okay onto the next location.
