This was fucking fantastic. The tone reminded me a little of We Were Liars or Little Fires Everywhere (I think the doom of fire brings a very distinctly mysterious element to books), but it was also just fabulous on its own right. A story of family and love and what it means to be a parent, but also a story of mystery and a little intrigue. I loved it.
Moderate: Abandonment, Alcohol, Cursing, Death of parent, Drug use, Grief, Sexism, and Vomit
Minor: Car accident and Fire/Fire injury
