i'm in love with this book💜

i didn't know what the book was about when i started reading it but within a  few paragraphs, i got hooked immediately and i got ecstactic when i realized it was just a short read just like diary of a void.
seems fun and quirky at the beggining but towards the end, it becomes a little bit sad and melancholic.
(spoiler) the writing implies that keiko is  neurodivergent but i did a little research online and i didn't find any confirmation from the author regarding this. nevertheless, i still feel for keiko and her situation. it was like she was in a constant battle with the society to prove the she is "normal".  for 36 years, she was trying to blend in, looking for clues around her on what to do, what to wear, how to speak etc. just to avoid conflict and to make people around her happy. i also relate to her as a retail worker since i've been working in the customer service industry for almost seven years now.  constantly putting myself in a happy and energetic persona while facing people is an everyday struggle for me so kudos to keiko 👏
i think it was still a happy ending for her since she was able to find out who she really wants to be (a convenience store woman) without asking for help or instructions from the people around her.

overall, i was entertained and touched by keiko's story. i would definitely read more the author's works.
