The story was somewhat interesting - although there's a very unnecessary romance in the middle of this thriller - but I couldn't enjoy the book while feeling lectured and talked down to by the ideological views of Michael Crichton.
Half the story it feels like you're being lectured to through the character of John Kenner as he talks about the evils of the Environmental movement and how people who claim to care about environmental causes are ignorant hypocrites. Although seeming to present arguments from a neutral point of view, it didn't feel that way to this reader. It was a struggle to finish this book.
