This is a one-stop shop short story of a terror filled night! It portends of Mothman-esque prophecies and gnashes and gnaws with cave-dwelling creatures, all while scarily supplanting you into the setting of a desolate wintry roadtrip with the strangers you meet along the way. Should you follow the truck-driver, seemingly genuine in his advances to help you on a dark, treacherous night? And what of the man in the middle of the road with the sickly crazed grin stretched across his face?

As a female, I could completely empathize with the choices the main character had to make, when being a woman alone in the night is a danger all its own. This story kept me guessing, kept me tense, and at times was a confusing smatter of sights and sounds just like any nightmare is supposed to be. Yet as the MC actually experiences the events, from the claustrophia, the utter darkness, and the absence of sense and self, it’s all a bad dream from which you cannot wake as you turn the pages for more.

Follow the red eyes, run from the claws, and be ready to descend into a deep, dank place in this nerve-twisting novella
