Isabella: The Warrior Queen by Kirstin Downey

5.0

Spanish history needed to know!
Wowowo how have i only understood these figures in reference

Queen Isabella adored and demonized
Demon,
Never something a holy woman would thought tied to her name.
And yet her rein is solidified in blood
Mother of the inquisition mother of Columbus’s rape of the new world, and not afraid to put her kingdom into war (many times!)
But this history is twisted,
Somewhere in all of this is a patron of arts, a highly intelligent, deeply religious figure-
One who played her life like a game of chess,
Who insisted on education of the women around her, on the best for her people, and who championed the renaissance.
And who insisted on her throne - though was cunning enough to use her husbands name to mask her web of power.
Truly so happy to have read this looooved
