Obviously, being a fan of Abbi's is a bit of a prerequisite. Regardless of my love of her work, I really enjoyed this book on its own merits. Of course she talks about Broad City and other projects, but in a broader sense, this book navigates one woman's path through heartbreak.
After a bad breakup that has left her questioning almost everything in her life, Abbi sets out on an adventure across the country to rediscover and reflect on herself. Does she find all the answers? No, absolutely not, but by the end both the author and reader find a sense of peace.
This book was surprisingly candid and often hilarious. So much of Abbi's personality shines through. She's just as endearing on the page as she is on the screen. I'd really like her to write another book of essays a few years from now. No doubt her career and spirit are on the rise and I am totally here for it!
