The Wallflower Wager
by Tessa Dare
What I liked best about this book is that it didn't use the miscommunication trope, I've been reading too many of those recently. Of course they don't tell each other every secret on their first meeting, and there was still the self doub, but when needed they always talked very plainly with each other and didn't leave anything out.
Also, I loved his housekeeper and the dynamics between Chase and Ashbury, the goatbirth was hilarious.
I was surprised by Penny's past but I think they handled the issue well.
