Honestly, shocked. šŸ˜‚ I thought this book HAD to be overhyped, or would be too dark in the darkest parts for me to enjoy it at all. Welp, here I am eating my words.

It was dark at times, but the humor had me HOOKED from the first few pages. The wit and banter between Rowan and Sloane was probably some of the best Iā€™ve read since I started reading again, which has been a couple years now! Who knew Iā€™d be giggling and kicking my feet between brutal ā€œcompetitions?ā€

I feel like it was a well-written romance progression too, where the slow burn was somehow written while still maintaining an overall quick pace for the book.

Lastly, I feel like Iā€™m a hard reader to ā€œhookā€ on the ā€œnext it coupleā€ from a couple interactions in a book thatā€™s going on for a series. Iā€™m not the person who will automatically be ravenous for the next coupleā€™s book, unless itā€™s really done well. In this book, I feel like there wasnā€™t even that much couple-wise, but each individual character was written so well that I canā€™t wait to learn more about them and see how they come together!

I was so shocked by this book!
