While I did enjoy this book and got through it in one sitting, I felt that it was trying to spell things out for the reader too much and was a bit on the nose. Being such a short book the pace and development is just a bit too fast to fully flesh out its themes. I felt I was easily able to anticipate the events and see the underlying message and I wish this book gave a bit more to work with as cannibalism is such an intriguing horror. Parts of the story definitely surprised me and intrigued me but, again, I wish the author had done more to flesh it out to give it a bigger impact. Still, a good, entertaining, quick read; a book version of an episode of Black Mirror.
