Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky

4.0

Not sure if this is a 4 or a 5 stars because I didn't like the voice-actor from the audiobook. I'll definitely come back to it in future years to think through the side-conversations more. It's refreshingly (and scarily) familiar. Humans really don't change too much over time.

In terms of the main internal conflict/the interactions with the police, this reminded me of a "classics" version of Death Note. Considering that this was written in the 1800s, I'm amazed at how many mystery "tropes" are already present throughout this psychological thriller.
