The Charmed Life of Alex Moore by Molly Flatt

1.0

A very big book, divided in two, The Charmed Life of Alex Moore by Molly Flatt starts out as a banal look at self help genres and gurus and turns into fantasy and science fiction. Alex Moore lives a life of humdrum daily boredom until she meets Chloe who has her setting up her own very successful tech company within 6 months geared to self help wanna be's the world over. Yet Alex suffers from anxiety attacks, vertigo and nausea and begins to neglect her family and fiance. In order to relax she joins a research project in the Orkney Islands, but then meets a whole other world which challenges her newly found self. For me, the writing was not special and this novel overlong.
