Y’all know I love a cutesy romance story, and Technically Yours is that and more! When I saw the cover of a black woman and a white man, I hoped it didn’t have too many racial issues and undertones and it didn’t.

Pearl Harris is one of 3 daughters, climbing the ladder of a tech company and is all about following her head over her heart. When she started getting close to Cord Matthews who was her boss at the time, she decided to break things off and take a job that would take her away from Chicago to LA.

5 years later, Pearl is back in Chicago working for another tech company. At a gala, Pearl and Cord run into each other again and old sparks get reignited. Cord never forgot about Pearl regardless of any of his relationships since her including his current one. When his new partner decided to take a job out of state, they both agree long distance wouldn’t work plus his mind is already on Pearl.

When Cord is asked to join the board of the company Pearl works for, they get close again. Cord wants to make sure he never loses Pearl again, but Pearl is more focused on her career. When cord gets closer to her sister’s child Tye, they get even close causing Pearl to let some of her guard down. But will Cord do something to make her put those walls right back up?

This book touched on so many things including interracial relationships, black
women in tech, a woman standing on business, the LGBTQIA+ community and the correct use of pronouns. I loved this book from start to finish. It literally took me less than 24 hours to read it cover to cover. If you’re looking for a cute romance story with real life issues, Technically Yours needs to be your next read!
