Definitely too many layers, book within a book within a book (within another book??)
In general too many threads to follow
Tone changed with the story too
First half felt YA, but they never felt like they grew up
Lost the creepy aspect as it went along (wished the setting was used more, especially the whistling rocks)
Ended feeling a bit like what was the point
Didn't love Wilder's character
