Heart of Iron by Bec McMaster

4.0

Picking up where Kiss of Steel and Tarnished Knight left off, this book continues to explore the characters previously introduced. Heart of Iron follows Honoria's sister, Lena, and her relationship with Will.

Lena has been accepted to the out circles of the Eschelon. She gets herself caught up in the humanitsts movement though, passing messages and being a spy. Of course, while knowing absolutely nothing about who she is spying for. For someone who claims to be smart, this is incredibly dumb. >.<

Will is the SUPER OVER PROTECTIVE MALE because he's the world's version of a werewolf (verevolfen). He can't be with Lena because he'd totally accidentally spread the virus to her. Meanwhile, Lena is also being harassed by a duke and her family threatened.

I'm taking off a full star, because something happens to Lena, which I think the narrative does not deal with well, and I honestly considered taking off two stars for it. =/ The series has yet another super buff, overprotective love interest, and I would like to see a bit more variety in characterization.
