Evil Under the Sun by Agatha Christie

  • Diverse cast of characters? No

3.5

A solid Christie mystery.

Not quite the location I had in mind when hearing the title but I suppose the sun does even shine on England on occasion.

As always she found a way to smuggle a little romance at the end there.
I had hopes for Kenneth Marshall and Rosamund Darnley although I wont lie I was a bit offended for her when he said we’ll get married and you’ll give up your business. I suppose her barking back before giving in and saying marrying him and living in the countryside is all she ever wanted is something of a win tho haha. The whole childhood pals to married couple pipeline is cute after all

Poor lil Linda getting all riled up though! Felt for the girl.

Solid plot, great pacing and a real cast of characters which are hallmarks of Christie’s full length works.

Didnt figure out the method or
murderers
but I had narrowed it down so in a way….
given that there were two murderers and I hadnt figured that in I wasnt far off! Even if I had no clue as to how smh

Good case of red herrings, misdirection and clues being left to parcel which I’m sure would make it quite obvious on reread.
