Across the Universe by Beth Revis

I have a love-hate relationship with this book. It was captivating! I fell in love with Amy, Elder, and Harley the moment I read about them. But the plot was also predictable. I saw the drugged humans, genetic modification, never-actually was a plague aspects of the story coming from a mile away. I also knew Elder had thawed Amy about halfway through the book. The Eldest/Elder cloning was a huge surprise. However, it was pretty obvious that Orion was the previous Elder almost as soon as he was introduced as a character. The writing was good, but nothing extraordinary. The alternating points of view definitely added to the overall story, but the timing was off in places, making some of the story line difficult to immediately follow. Ultimately, it is definitely a read once and forget about type of book. I would recommend this book as a quick read or as an in-between for your need to read books, but it is not a necessity and I would never sacrifice room on my bookshelf for it.
