regarding drugs - the characters make a poppy stem soup and then run around the estate/nearby woods and play hide and seek & regarding homophobia - period typical, this is set in communist poland so naturally the characters keep their relationship secret under the regime, one of the characters is also threatened by the state bc of their identity
