A Ballad of Phantoms and Hope
by K.M. Moronova
dark
emotional
**spoiler alert** This one took me a few days to read. I couldn't just run through it. There is a lot to unpack and not with the characters but just because it made me really think about how the others negative words can stick with you for so long and you don't even realize it. Like, you may work hard to not believe any of it, but seriously it will follow you in everything you do.
Lanston walked around with so much on his shoulders and all he wanted to was to be loved and remembered by those that he loved in the living world that he carried those feelings into the afterlife. Then he meets Ophelia and she is running from the darkness and so scared that being around him and keeping him to herself that he will be consumed by it as well.
If you choose to read this, please read The Fabric of Our Souls first. You will want to, as this is a continuation. Also, go into it with the mind that it is not spicy, and the themes can be a bit heavy so open your mind and read any trigger warnings. I hope you enjoy.
