There are several moments that gave me the ick (cyber sexing furry avatars) but I managed to push through the discomfort. The narrative hops around a bit in time as if the author is just reminiscing to an acquaintance. I normally like a bit more structure to a memoir but this was okay.
The loneliness of change and severe medical diagnosis is evident through the entire memoir, especially in a world that is so unaccepting of one's identity. Even if a reader is not in a similar state of transition they will find they can understand, if not empathize with, the complex feelings Paige expresses.

Graphic: Cancer, Transphobia, Medical content
Moderate: Chronic illness, Drug use, Violence
Minor: Blood, Vomit
